"The Countess of Wessex, wife of Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, visited the Hope Family Centre in Bromyard on Wednesday, March 17 and planted a crab apple tree in the grounds of the centre and unveiled a plaque to mark her visit.

 THREE of the best tourism businesses in Worcestershire and Herefordshire have reached the finals of the 2010 Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, sponsored by the Caravan Club. Hidelow House Cottages at Acton Beauchamp, near Bromyard, and Poston Mill Caravan Park at Peterchurch, near Hereford, will go head-to-head with attractions and destinations from across the country in a bid to win their category.

A BROMYARD soldier is to cycle 1,000 miles in seven days with a rugby ball to raise funds for military charities. Lance Corporal Ashley Gibbons, aged 22, is one of 12 soldiers taking part in the challenge to aid the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and Help for Heroes.
