THE top boss of the council is paid more money than the Prime Minister, the Hereford Times can reveal. Chris Bull, chief executive to both Herefordshire Council and the Primary Care Trust, now earns £183,724, rising to well over £200,000 with pension contributions thrown in.

Italian connection at the HOPE Centre |

Our roving reporter was delighted to meet Emily Davis and Camilla Lombardi yesterday at the HOPE Centre. Emily Davis, whose father Mark moved from Bromyard to Italy some years ago, married an Italian girl and stayed on in his adopted country, is spending two weeks at the HOPE Centre with her friend Camilla.

THERE was a massive sigh of relief from those at Bromyard’s HOPE Family Centre as they finally discovered they had been awarded a £280,000 grant for an ambitious development. Fears had been raised that the central government grant, administered by Herefordshire Council, had fallen victim to the cuts sweeping the nation and that the large extension would never be built.

What a day! The warmest day of the year didn't dissuade 42 runners from entering and running the re-launched Bromyard Gala ‘Round the Downs’ Race on Sunday 27th June, which was last run in 1995. (Among those pictured is Val Freegard who won the race in 1939 and kindly agreed to start this race). More pictures below....
