This is is now available on CD from The Honeypot in The Square and aslo directly from Nonny on 07809-102494. Nonny told bromyard.info  'This all started a few months ago when Margaret Dallow was organising an auction of promises to raise money for the Gala.  I donated an evening of entertainment.  Sylvia 'bought' me (as she so quaintly put it!).'

Charity appeals after lorry failure.

Equine Market Watch, a horse rescue charity, from Bromyard has launched a desperate appeal for replacement transport after its lorry broke own.  Elaine Tasker, EMW spokesperson said the lorry was a lifeline that was used to rescue horses and pick up vital supplies.

 
Broadband - The Mayor responds

J.Jacobsen_MayorResponding to concerns expressed in comments to bromyard.info the Mayor, Jamie Jacobsen reports that:  "This issue will be discussed at a future meeting of one of the Bromyard & Winslow Town Council committees - The Town Development Committee will be examining the issues, and looking into what the Town Council can do to progress the issue."

Bromyard bids for high-speed broadband

HIGH-speed broadband has been placed firmly on the agenda in Bromyard.
Town councillors and local web-users are seeking a solution to slow internet connections that have plagued the town since broadband was introduced about five years ago.

 
GCSE Success at QE

QE_Tabber_MillsStudents at Queen Elizabeth Humanities College are celebrating their GCSE results this year. 98% of students achieved five or more GCSE or equivalent grades at A* to C.  ICT, Music, and Media all achieved 100% pass rates, as did Science BTEC. Indeed, 60% also achieved a Double Science certification. Following their long history of success, Food (83%), Art (75%) and Resistant Materials (70%), again performed positively. English Literature did particularly well this year with 81%.

Bill Mulroy will join the Gloucester and Somerset youth team for the GENSB competition this weekend.

Team_PhotoLadies BRFC had a great achievement as winners of the Redditch Touch Tournament held on Saturday 28 August 2010.  Plans are in motion for a similar tournament to be held at Bromyard Rugby Club in the near future.

Bank Hours – Correction

It was reported in the press and subsequently on bromyard.info that the NatWest would be open for four days a week from November.  This is not so.  The bank will be open from 10am to 2pm on Mondays and Thursdays.  A correction  appears in this week's Hereford Journal

 
Doctors gave me 48 hours to live

Georgina_gcseA TEENAGER who was given just 48-hours to live battled back from illness to triumph in her GCSE results this week.   Georgina Tabberer-Mills, pictured, a student at Bromyard’s Queen Elizabeth school, missed three crucial months of education after contracting bacterial pneumonia after falling sick with swine-flu last year.
