The achievements of learners, volunteers and staff at the Bromyard-based HOPE Family Centre were celebrated at a recent awards ceremony.

The centre delivers a wide range of support services for families including early years education, adult learning,

activities for children, parenting advice, toddler groups and speech and language support.

The awards event was led by patron Sir Andrew MacFarlane who charted the successes of the centre over the last 12 months, which included receiving sustainability funding from the Cabinet office for its work and being awarded enhanced accreditation by the National Association of Child Contact Centre.

Learners, including Karen Sheldon, Rachel Parry, Lisa Styles, Kelly Hammond and Pam Norris, were on hand to receive certificates for Parents with Prospects, Caring for Children and English Level Two. Volunteers also received certificates of achievement for their commitment.

Thanks went to Paul Baker, Laurence Haddock and Fiona Legge for their support for technology classes, the redesign of the internal courtyard and Friends of Hope respectively.

Staff awards included Charlotte Wynter and Kayley Seymour who both achieved foundation degrees in Childhood Studies and Early Years respectively, and Jo Hyde, Level Two Childhood studies.

A special award was presented to Anna Beddows, administrative team leader, who was integral in the centre gaining one of the UK's top quality management standards, ISO 9001.

And more than 30 staff and volunteers were awarded achievement certificates in conflict resolution training from Wye Valley Mediation.

Chief executive Sarah Eardley said: "Our annual awards event is an evening of great celebration as we honour and value the hard work, dedication and professionalism of all those involved in our charity. Our aim is to both offer and provide services of the highest quality and we are thoroughly proud of all our award winners. Well done to them all."

Any suggestions for a venue where to have my wedding party next year? I will have around 60 guests and will want to have both traditional Romanian and English food ( which not sure the restaurants can help with). Thank you!
