AN appeal for £40,000 to repair a Bromyard church’s pipe organ will be given a boost with two events taking place over the next few weeks.
Saturday, February 27 will see Malvern College musicians giving a free recital in St Peter’s Church, with a retiring collection for the building’s damaged organ.
Wine and soft drinks will be available in the interval and the concert will begin at 7.30pm.
On Friday, April 9, the annual dinner for the Bromyard Pipe Organ Fund will be held at the Falcon Hotel, Bromyard, from 7.30pm. The meal will cost £15 and tickets are available from David Kemp on 01885 482157, the Honey Pot, in Market Square, Bromyard, or the Falcon Hotel itself.
Guest Speaker will be Reverend Charmian Manship, succentor of Worcester Cathedral.
During the evening there will be a raffle and auction in aid of the appeal and anyone who could donate items for this should contact Sylvia Jenkins on 01885 488445.
The appeal has now almost reached the half-way point of its fund-raising.
