The Rural Media Company would like to invite you to come along to the Heritage Centre in Bromyard on Wednesday 17th February anytime between 11am and 4pm to find out about Shoot Out, our new young people’s filmmaking project.
During this time the doors will be open to anybody living in the area, regardless of age, to come along and meet the Shoot Out workers. You will have the opportunity to try out the new HD cameras and iMacs and register your interest in the project.Â
The Shoot Out project will span over three years giving 460 young people the practical skills and confidence to make films that support their local communities and express their own opinions and creativity. Aimed at helping to develop creative, social and community media Shoot Out will establish six media hubs across the county of Herefordshire. Young people will work with their local community to film events, showcase the area to visitors and help raise funds as well as making creative and documentary pieces. Local communities will screen and share the Shoot Out films and each year a selection of the films will be showcased at the Borderlines film festival. We believe young people deserve to get their voices heard and we would like to help this happen. Shoot Out will also work with 16 specialist groups such as Young Carers, MIND, Headway and young Travellers to train participants in media skills and encourage them to record their thoughts, feelings and experiences on camera for others to see.Â
