The Conquest theatre could withdraw from a major competition if it doesn’t fill a leading role.
Janet Hugman needs a 20-something actress to fill the starring role in the Conquest Theatre’s latest play.
Rehearsals for “Rumours” - described as a light drama with a dark edge - start next Wednesday (Jan 27) at 7.30pm.
The March premiere should take place at the Courtyard in the Herefordshire Round of the All England Theatre Festival.
But the curtain will close on Mrs Hugman’s production unless she finds an actress to play the leading role.
“We’ve got actors and actresses in their teens and 40s but we really need 25 to 30-year-olds,” said her husband, David.
“We thought we had someone lined-up but we got there too late. If anyone could help we would be extremely grateful.”
The lead character is described as a “yuppy-ish wife”, while extra actors are always welcome.
Rehearsals take place every Wednesday, contact Janet on 01885 488575 or 01885 482391 for more details.
