A dog has been rescued after it became trapped in an underground water pipe in Herefordshire.
The eight-year-old lurcher was stuck in the Bromyard area of Stoke Lacy on Christmas morning.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said the RSPCA asked for its help in freeing the dog.
Fire service staff were at the scene at about 1320 GMT and the dog was released within 10 minutes, a spokesperson added.
She said the RSPCA was called after the fire service was first notified at just before 1200 GMT.
Story from BBC NEWS:
Note: Lurchers are hunting dogs which are cross bred between sight hound and working breeds. The main sight hound breeds are Greyhound, Whippet, Saluki and Deerhound. The classic, traditional cross is greyhound x sheepdog. Whippet x Bedlington Terrier is also popular giving a smaller, rough coated animal.
Other crosses are also used. Recently there has been an increase in Greyhound by Bull (large bull terrier) crosses.
A Saluki cross may be used instead of greyhound. Salukis are not quite as fast as Greyhounds but have enormous stamina.
In this area lurchers are mainly used to take rabbits either in daylight or at night (lamping)
